The minimum age to be in California and Nevada casinos by state law is 21. Consider yourself lucky to get in but do not count on actually getting that jackpot if you cannot prove your age.

I want to gamble using actual coin slots. Does anyone know where any of these exist in Norcal (SF bay area – Napa)?

I liked the feel of inserting the coin in the slot, pulling the handle, letting go when I was ready and when I won, hearing, seeing and picking up the coins I won.

Most casinos have all switched to coinless machines. You insert paper money and when you cash out you receive a printed coupon for the balance of your earnings.

This cuts down a tremendous amount of overhead for the casinos by not having to transport coins or have attendents paying out in coins.

As a whole I think Vegas slot machines are looser than other places where there is not much competition in the area in terms of casinos….

this is not a blanket statement – as strip casinos can be just as tight as slots at an indian reservation with no other casinos nearby

from slot to slot – they are all against you no matter where you play,

I have no proof but I think as a whole vegas slots are looser than other cities and states that have forms of gambling and slot machines

Both are 100% chance for example nobody can predict what hand they’re going to get in a card game, as the cards are shuffled (unless it’s rigged). So why the double standard between the games? Is a slot machine more “chance” than the Lotto which is legal?

poker is more a skill game, while slots are pure gambling, you dont have any decision there, only choose lines and press bet button.

You can lose a quarter on a game of slot machine but usually you lose a lot more on a hand of poker, so why is one legal and the other not in California? (aside from on Indian reservations).
Isn’t playing the Lottery 100% chance? That’s legal too.

one is a game of skill (poker does require luck, but a good player can win with a crap hand) and one is all luck. I guess California legislated out games of chance.

You’d be surprised how quickly quarters add up to a hell of a lot of money when you are mindlessly feeding them into a machine, and you are mindlessly feeding booze into your mouth.
