Question by Jelloise: What is a decent, reasonably priced graphics card for a PCIe slot in my pc?
Mine has an Intel graphics media accelerator 950 and the 2GBs of ram it will hold.
I’m not trying to build an extreme gaming machine, I just want better overall and dvd/flash game/cd performance.
I should have said it’s a x16.

I would say minimum 8400gs. I had it and it ran any free games you throw at it. If, on the other hand, you buy pc games you should get something better but 8400gs should be fine on older games. If its over $ 20 don’t get it as you can get better ones.

It will work with my DG31PR motherboard right. With the exception of the HDMI audio?

My understanding is that I can use a PCI express 2.0 card in my PCI 1.1 express slot, although it won’t gain all of the bonuses it would have with a 2.0 slot.

Correct, it’s compatible. A suggestion though; if you’re gonna use it for gaming considering looking for a GDDR3 version if it exists.

I had a browse through the site and saw the 9600GSO cheaper than the 9500GT (before re-bate). It’s a much better card than the 9500GT.

I know this may seem like a n00b question, but anyway:

I don’t know what type of AGP slot I have – and I don’t have the motherboard manual to find out – I tried looking online for it, but couldn’t find anything decent

What is the best card that I can get for my money – I just want to play some decent 3D games – but I don’t know if I need a 512MB card, (or even if it will be any use to me).

Would it be better to buy a card that has say: 256MB RAM, but fast transfer speeds – or 512MB and lower transfer speeds?

Thanks for any advice…..:-)
Another note: my PSU is only 450W, so that limits my range – but what is the best that I can get in this range?

Find out exactly which AGP card is compatible with your motherboard first. Then decide on which card is which.

Try downloading Everest (Lavalys). It should tell you exactly what type of AGP slot you have

I bought a used xBox last year and it’s messed up (keeps shutting off). I bought a new one, ignorantly assuming I could use the same memory card in the new machine. Is there really no way to use the game files from the older machine (saved on a memory card) onto thx new machine??

You can 1: Use a transfer cord or 2: Use a flashdrive. Look at sources for link of both of these. Hope this helps.

Like an idiot I was withdrawing money from the banks ATM and I was in such a hurry to get home for my and my mom’s birthday that I grabbed the money and receipt but forgot to wait for the card to come out of the slot! That was at 3:45 and then at 8:00 I realized I forgot it at the ATM. I quickly drove there and of course it wasn’t in the slot and the bank was closed. I called and canceled my account but I don’t have online banking to check if someone took money from it because my sister used online banking and someone stole 2k from her account that way. She got the money back though but I was wondering if someone actually took my card could I get my money back as well? I’m going to go to the bank first thing tomorrow to see if anyone turned it on or put it in the deposit box but I doubt anyone is that honest these days. it can be used as a credit as well so anyone could use it if they find it. so could I get my money back in time if any was taken out?
Soccerref: Actually the customer service guy said he couldn’t check to see my statement but I think he just didn’t want to do it. lol

If you left the card in the ATM and no one else showed up and took it, the machine will pull the card back into it after a few minutes. You can pick it up from the bank on Mon if that is the case.

If someone did get ahold of it and they did charge items on it you most likely will get the money back. Just notify the bank ASAP. Also, check on the bank website. They most likely have some number you can call to report the lost card on the weekend.

You can only put the memory card in if you have the old, 60gb ps3.

To the left of where you put your game disc in, theres a little black piece, it seems like it doesn’t do anything but flip that up and you’ll see a bunch of slots. Stick your card in and your good to go

My little brother stuck a penny in the game slot and it took me a long time to remove it . Now when i tried to put my game in the slot and i turned it on, the ds menu screen says that there’s nothing in the ds slot. What can i do to fix this. BTW i cant return it to the store that i bought it at because i threw out the reciept , thinking that i wouldn’t need it

its short circuited! If your DS was turned on when the penny was in there it fryed the circuits in there….. O_o sorry but u have to buy another one its screwed

if you have a phone it can fit in and bluetooth on the computer you may be able to send over bluetooth and have it save to the card. can’t vouch for that, but it could work
