I was at the arcades yesterday and I couldn’t be bothered to spend my own money so I was searching the other machines for any 2p’s that were left and then one of the staff working there told me not to as it was tantamount to theft? Even after they were long gone and had left maybe 2 or 4p?

True It was not your money was it – so it is theft.
Technically it belongs to the person who left it behind – the amount is irrelevant – and they could return to claim it at any time. You are also on the arcade operator’s premises – so he makes the rules.

I was just told by a friend it was. Anyone know the truth, and if it is, where is it stated? He said it was only legal on Native American reservations or something..

If it’s a business like a casino etc it’s legal
but if it’s private like in a house and the police find out it’s now illegal
I don’t think a cop would arrest someone in the military

I’m thinking of moving to St. Thomas and want to possibly open a Bar with about 20 gaming slot machines. Would I run into any hurdles I’m not aware of? Can someone school me about the potential for this down there. I’ve been down there about 6x – so I’m pretty familiar with the island.. I’m curious if someone who knows the island much better can share some light..

You need a gaming license for slots.
Very expensive proposition..

If your talking video slots.. the licensing is less expensive. You’ll also pay tax to the gov’t.

I have a slot machine I want to sell. It was initially purchased with my knowledge that it had been “converted” to accept only tokens and will be sold with around 250 tokens. I placed an ad in a local shopper, and I have received several calls from people who are interested, but they have all asked whether or not it works with real money (quarters). I know it does, I’ve tried it out myself, but can I tell them this? I would really like to sell it, but I don’t want to risk getting in trouble over knowingly selling a gambling device that accepts real money in the state of Texas.

does the same apply for table games? Just asking. I say no, the casino won’t because don’t they need identification? My friend says, that illegal person is entitled to it.

Illegal meaning underage? No the casino won’t give it to you. Illegal meaning not allowed to be in the country? I don’t see why they wouldn’t. I’ve never needed ID to get my winnings at the casino.

Question by Sweet n Sour: Why are slot machines illegal but card games legal in California?
Both are 100% chance for example nobody can predict what hand they’re going to get in a card game, as the cards are shuffled (unless it’s rigged). So why the double standard between the games? Is a slot machine more “chance” than the Lotto which is legal?

poker is more a skill game, while slots are pure gambling, you dont have any decision there, only choose lines and press bet button.
