Question by O: How much time to set aside to visit the Statue of Liberty?
More Information: I am going on the second time slot of the day (9:00 AM) and I am not going to Ellis Island. I am paying to go up to the crown. I am more interested in absorbing the atmosphere and sites than on reading about history. Also, I am going on a national holiday.

Bonus Question: Is the time that I pay for the time that the boat leaves or is it something else?

A: You are correct and you need to show up at least 45 minutes so security can check you out.

A: It depends on what you plan to do and amount of people going along with you. 2 hours should do since you are skipping Ellis Island.
